The aim by the end of Year 8 is to ensure that pupils have had sufficient opportunities to develop and demonstrate skills and understanding in as many of the following areas as possible:

• word processing
• presentations
• desk-top publishing
• using the internet and email
• databases
• spreadsheets
• image editing
• animation
• video and sound editing
• web-authoring
• sequencing instructions

This course contains a variety of topics (adapted National Strategy units, ICT4Life (levels 3-5), and some units from the ICT Skills Builder series.

Your teacher will let you know which topics you are doing this year. This will depend upon those units already completed in Year 7 and differing pupil ability.
