PERFORMING ARTS COLLEGE STATUS
We don’t all wear Lycra and body warmers here at our school, but the Performing Arts are important to us.
A grounding in Performing Arts can:
• Raise self-esteem and confidence
• Improve oracy
• Give us a sense of self knowledge and presence
As a result of this status we immerse students in an extensive range of cultural visits from theatres to dance trips.
Instrumental Music Tuition is free as part of our commitment to making the Arts accessible to all.
NORTH ROCHDALE
North Rochdale is a vibrant multi-cultural area. The school tries to both reflect and serve these communities. Community Cohesion is important to us and our young people work outside the school to try to put that philosophy into practice.
CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is innovative and designed to stretch all of us …. teachers and students alike.
Students have an intensive Foundation Skills course in Year 7 that prepares them for early entry into GCSE in Year 9. Most will go on to complete many GCSE or equivalents at the end of Year 10. Year 11 then offers further study at AS level or new GCSE courses.
There are a range of vocational courses and real life work placements attached to these.
By having this breadth we hope to offer something for everybody and enable all pupils to show their strengths.
WANT TO KNOW MORE?
Why not ring us on 01706 631246 and ask for Mrs Fitton. We are always happy to take visitors around during the working day.
AND FINALLY ….
The school is due to be replaced in 2014. This means that from October 2012 there will be a building site here in front of the existing building. However, the State of the Art School that will replace our much loved 1935 building should serve as a springboard for even greater things.
