| Term Time Absence |
|
By law the school can authorise ten school days for holidays/visits but will not do this on principle. If you take your child on holiday/extended visit during school time their absences will be coded as unauthorised and the Education Welfare Service will be informed. Be aware that any pupil who has over ten days absence in any one term is categorised as a persistent non-attender and will be treated accordingly by the school and Education Welfare Service. We are aware that on RARE occasions it is necessary for some families/carers to take their children out of school during term time, however, please bear in mind that this can have a detrimental effect on your child’s education. If you do wish to take your child out of school during term time please ensure that you:
If your child has been given authorisation to go on holiday/extended visit but does not return by the agreed date then your child will be taken off roll and will no longer attend this school. If your child has not been given authorisation to go on holiday/extended visit during term time please be aware that:
When your child returns from an extended holiday, you must contact the school to make an appointment to see the Head Teacher before your child returns to school as there may no longer be a place available for them. If you have any queries concerning the above please contact Mrs Barlow or Mr Smith on Rochdale 515872 Mr. N. Smith Mrs Barlow To download a copy of the Absence Form, please click this link.
