Falinge Park High School

Opening Doors; Unlocking Potential

Parent Governor Vacancies

Parent Governor Vacancies

As you may know, following an inspection by Ofsted in February 2018, Falinge Park High School was judged to be a “good” school in all areas. However, we aim to be even better and have exciting plans for the future.  We now have two vacancies for parent governors to join our School’s governing board and help drive this improvement.

As governors, we agree a long-term vision for the school and its place in the community, set ambitious targets for the school and support and encourage all of our pupils to reach their full potential. We also act as a “critical friend”, making sure that what happens in school meets our agreed standards and expectations. Our parent governors are key members of our team, because they also help us keep in touch with what our parents are thinking. We are a group of people drawn from many different backgrounds; what we share is a passion to work with the Headteacher and her staff to deliver a first-class education for all our pupils.

Our full governing body meets once each term, in the early evening. We also hold a Governor Day each term, when we spend a day in school, visit lessons and meet staff and pupils. This all helps give us a real feel for the day-to-day life of the school.

You don’t need to be an education expert to become a governor; what you do need is a real interest in the school, a commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of our pupils and a willingness to get involved. In return, we will give you a full induction, provide access to quality training and arrange for an experienced governor to act as your mentor and help you find your feet. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends, develop new skills and to do something really worthwhile for our school and the community.

If you’re interested and would like to find out more about what’s involved, please contact Mrs J Wellens, Clerk to the Governors at wellensj@falingepark.com

We look forward to hearing from you.

Paul Young

Chair of Governors
