Well done to our Year 7 Arts Award students who achieved a 100% pass rate for their Arts Award bronze qualifications as part of the ‘What’s In A Word?’ project. The students worked tremendously hard to achieve these results and we are very proud of them. Certificates for this qualification will be issued in the next few weeks. Five Falinge Park High School pupils took part in the Hopwood Hall Junior Masterchef Competition on Monday 21st March. Faizah Qureshi, Maham Ramzam, Natasha Shoukat, Ben Oakley and Danny Smith produced a starter and main course using seasonal produce and a choice of salmon or chicken. Congratulations to Faizah who won the competition and also to Maham who was runner-up. All our pupil’s dishes were of an incredibly high standard and would not be out of place on any restaurant’s menu. Well done to all competitors and we look forward to retaining the cup next year. Our latest edition of the ‘Create!’ Termly Arts newsletter is out on our school website and via Group Tutors. This edition is a bumper 24 pages and can be downloaded directly from our school site. Well done to all the students who have participated in many of the great events contained within its pages.
Our Music show titled ‘Remix’ is to take place on Wednesday the 27th of April 2016 from 6.00pm until 8.00pm. the evening will feature a wide range of performances from students across the years and incorporate a range of styles and genres. For more details or to book tickets, please contact Ms Williams in school. Alternatively tickets may be purchased from the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school. Tickets are priced £3.00 each or £10.00 for a family of four.
Our Dance show takes place on Monday the 23rd of May from 6pm until 8pm. Titled ‘Back2Back’, the show is being organised and run by our year 10 Dance Group and auditions for the show take place shortly. Tickets can be bought from the CEPA Office and refreshments are included in the price of £4.00.
There is a visit to the lake District on the 29th of April in order to visit the various prehistoric sites. Titled ‘Picnic At The Stones’, students are able to participate in an outdoor Arts workshop and visit Mayburgh Henge, ‘Long Meg And Her Daughters’ Stone Circle and Arthur’s Table Henge.
