Year 9 Graduation
Year 9 pupils celebrated successfully meeting the requirements of Key Stage 3 in a graduation ceremony held in the heart space of our school. We were delighted to welcome parents/carers in joining us to mark the transition into Key Stage 4, where the challenges of GCSE and other equivalent courses will be undertaken. It was a truly impressive occasion, marked most notably by inspiring speeches from two of our current Year 10 pupils; Moises Cravid-Cambundo and Amie Lawal. They spoke about how to cope with the pressures of Key Stage 4, reflected on how they have developed as individuals and motivated their audience to maintain a positive attitude and to make the most of their life in school. All Year 9 pupils received a certificate to mark their graduation with ‘honour’, merit’ or a ‘pass’. Particular congratulations must be extended to the 43 members of this year group who were awarded ‘honours’; this reflects excellent levels of attendance and a consistency of application, effort and attitude throughout the course of the year. Every pupil should be rightly proud of the contribution they have made to the success of their year group as a whole.
Thank you to the parents/carers who attended, to the staff who helped make it such an enjoyable occasion, to Moises and Aimee for their fabulous public speaking and to Year 9 as a whole; their conduct was impeccable.
