Northern Ireland Open Judo Championship
At Falinge Park High School, we encourage our students to Aspire, Thrive, and Achieve, and over the Easter break, two of our students did exactly that. Amelia and Julia travelled to Northern Ireland to compete in the Northern Ireland Open Championship—one of the UK’s five most prestigious judo competitions.
Both girls demonstrated incredible resilience on the mat. After a hard-fought semi-final where the two teammates faced one another, Amelia secured a fantastic Bronze medal. Julia went on to become the Northern Ireland Pre-Cadet Under-63kg Gold Medalist, defeating competitors from Ireland, Wales, and England. Representing both FPHS and Rochdale Judo Club, these girls are a true credit to our ‘Falinge Family.’ We look forward to seeing them thrive in their next championship this May!
