Admissions and Transition

Welcome to Falinge Park High School

Thank you for applying to be part of our school.  We are grateful to serve this community, and we are delighted to welcome you to Falinge Park High School where we encourage everyone to Aspire, Thrive and Achieve

Some of you will already have connections with our school and we thank you for continuing to choose us.  Some of you will be new to FPHS and we are excited to meet you.  For all of you, this can be an emotional time as your children move from year 6 to 7.  You and they are in good hands because the team here at FPHS are experienced and committed.

We are a school where care and education are integrated.  Every interaction matters at FPHS and we are always curious about how we can instil a love of academic and personal learning for all. We have high expectations of all, constantly show mutual respect and take every opportunity to learn.

At FPHS we look at every young person, know that success looks different for each individual and want them all to thrive. We pay attention to learning that develops the head, heart and hands because we are not only teaching our children how to flourish whilst they are with us but also how to live well in a complex world.

To our new Year 7 we say welcome and we can’t wait to watch you Aspire, Thrive and Achieve.

To parents and carers we look forward to working alongside side you  to ensure that our young people flourish and indeed Aspire, Thrive and Achieve.

You can read more about our values on our homepage.

We are part of the Watergrove Trust which means not only does your child receive outstanding education from our school, they also benefit from the wider knowledge and opportunities that our family of schools bring.

Waiting Lists

The school will operate a waiting list for each year group. Where, in any year, the school receives more applications for places than there are places available, a waiting list will operate.
A waiting list will be held by the school for all year groups with the following exception:
In Year 7 the waiting list until the end of the first term after the beginning of the school year, will be maintained by the Local Authority on behalf of Watergrove Trust, and it will be open to any parent to ask for their child’s name to be placed on the waiting list, following an unsuccessful application.
After the first term school will manage the waiting list for Year 7.

Children’s position on all waiting lists will be determined solely in accordance with the oversubscription criteria. Where places become vacant they will be allocated to children on the waiting list in accordance with the oversubscription criteria. The waiting list will be reordered in accordance with the oversubscription criteria whenever anyone is added to or leaves it.
